CheckMyARM began with a simple question.
How can someone know whether their existing software and devices will work — before investing in, or fully committing to, a Windows on ARM PC?
At the time, the alternatives were hours of manual research, digging through forum posts, or simply hoping for the best. There had to be a better way.
CheckMyARM was built to make that process fast, objective, and a lot less uncertain — a single scan of the PC you already own, checked against a compatibility database that keeps getting better. If there's one line that sums up why it exists: our goal is to reduce the stress of uncertainty.
How it works
CheckMyARM maintains an evolving, evidence-based compatibility database. Applications without verified compatibility data are marked Unknown rather than assumed broken — most conventional x86/x64 Windows applications are expected to run under emulation until confirmed native or unsupported. The scanner reads what's installed on your machine and checks it against that database. Instead of a one-time report, you get a Workspace — a plain-language recommendation you can keep building on: mark apps you've personally verified, flag what matters most to your decision, and revisit it as compatibility data improves. Export your Workspace anytime to save your progress and continue your assessment whenever you're ready — nothing is stored on our end.
Community
No single source can catalog every application. When CheckMyARM doesn't have an answer yet, real people fill the gap — anonymously or signed in, it's entirely optional either way. A small group of trusted Researcher volunteers — regular contributors who've earned a closer look at the harder cases — helps investigate those and keep existing entries accurate over time.

Privacy
The scanner talks to your browser over a direct connection on your own computer — that connection never leaves your machine. All real network traffic (submitting scan results, checking compatibility data) goes over a normal secure connection to the CheckMyARM server, the same as any other website.
Open philosophy
CheckMyARM's compatibility research is done by hand — by admins and volunteer Researchers using the same public search results anyone could find — not scraped in bulk or bought from a paid API. It's slower, but it keeps the data honest.
One bit of trivia in the spirit of that honesty: CheckMyARM runs on a codebase we still internally call NGPCX (Next-Gen PC eXplorer) — we just like the name CheckMyARM better for everyone else.
